Indigo F asked: Or how can I cover it? I got some ink on the page-edges of a library book, and it costs more to pay the library for the book than the book’s value. White-out doesn’t match the pages color.

How about trying a white crayon, water paints. Sorry that’s all I can think of. You could try the white out but you would have to rub something on it to discolor it some. Good Luck! =)

If you know the book’s value is cheaper then you could always own up to the your mistake and just buy a new copy and move all barcodes and such to it.

place a paper towel under the pages that you are working on and spray with an aerosol hairspray, spray then blot quickly, repeat as needed. Good Luck!!
This really works great on fabric, my husband is a teacher and he always has ink lines and spots on his clothes
